Bringing the Alien Cleric Action Figure to Life: A Behind-the-Scenes Look
Creating a new line of action figures is no small feat. From the initial designs to the final product, there are many steps involved in bringing a product to life. In this case, the client’s goal was to develop a line of 6-inch action figures based on an animated series called “America’s Space Force.”
The client provided the figure designs with Pantone color specifications to make them production-ready. Sonos Product Development was brought on board to sculpt all of the action figures in the line. Our team worked closely with the client to ensure that each figure was sculpted to their approval.
Engineering the Articulating Joints
Once the figures were sculpted, the team at Sonos Models engineered the articulating joints. This is a crucial step in the process, as it ensures that the figures are poseable and can be played with by children and collectors alike.
Creating the Painted Prototypes
With the articulating joints in place, the team created painted prototypes for the client to approve before production. This step is important because it allows the client to see what the final product will look like and make any necessary changes before production begins.
Packaging Design
But creating the action figures was only part of the process. The window box packaging design requirements were just as important. The packaging needed to include a barcode, child safety information, product photos, a logo, and the story of “America’s Space Force.”
Bringing it All Together
Thanks to the collaboration between the client and Sonos Models, this project was a great success. By working together, they were able to create a line of action figures that not only met the client’s specifications but exceeded their expectations.
